Selecting General Info from the Edit Menu brings up the General Info Window. This window allows you to enter the name of the survey, as well as to specify the distance units used in measurement. Meters and Feet both have convenient buttons provided.
If another distance unit is desired, the "other" button should be selected. Next, the name of the unit, and a conversion factor (to meters) should be entered. The conversion factor is not required, but if you want to plot “to scale” it won’t be the correct scale without the correct conversion factor back to meters.
The “General Information” edit field is for entering whatever information you want to enter about the cave, the survey, the people involved, or whatever. I use it to keep a record of the cave’s discovery, surveying crews and dates, and current length/depth statistics.
